Compilation Of LibreCADv2 Using Terminal And Qt

Our mentor Gurjot asked all the members of the CAD team to download and compile the source code of LibreCad2. We searched on internet for this purpose and downloaded the source code. Now after downloading it there are two ways by which we can compile the source code

1.By using QT

2.By using terminal

Firstly i tried to compile it using the terminal. It shows some kind of errors. I searched on internet for these errors, and followed the guidelines for resolving errors. These errors are due to the missing dependencies. The error which is common to many students was of boost library. The error is resolved by using following command

#sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev

After installing the library. I compiled source code using the QT creator. Now it didn't showing any errors and the compilation starts. It took approximately 15-20 min to compile.
An executable file was made after the compilation, which is in the unix folder. So go to unix folder by using cd command. You will see there the executable file double click to open it. You may need to change the permission using the chmod command, give the permissions accordingly.

#Compilation using terminal

After compiling the source code with the QT, i also tried to compile it using the terminal, and i was succeeded. My friends didn't able to compile it using terminal. They have the problem of the make command.I followed following steps using terminal

1.Go to the folder where the source code is placed.

2.Type qmake librecad.pro

3.Type make

Now it will start compiling, after the compilation there will be a unix folder go to that and to run the LibreCad type

./librecad in terminal.

That's it now you will see the librecadv2 on your screen
